Deep Linking Guide

admin | Link Buiding Tips | Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

One negative about having a blog is that many of your best posts will get lost in the archives. Posts that some people would link to stay stashed away to never be found.

Deep linking is that art of resurrecting your new posts by linking to them with your new posts. You should link to old posts and pages whenever you have the opportunity.  There are multiple benefits to linking to old posts. Search engines will rank your current posts better because they link to resources that better explain the content in them.

The largest benefit of deep linking is that you expose your new posts to your visitors. Exposing old posts gives them more material for them to get excited about. When people get excited about your work, they will link to it. Spammish techniques will only get you so far, and then you’re going to need to create some stuff that’s link worthy. Deep linking allows people to find your link worthy content.
